About BetaCarotene BetaCarotene is a 100% natural mixed carotenoid complex extracted from crude red palm oil ( Elaeis guineensis ), which is the largest natural source of carotenoids (retinol equivalents). It contains around 15 to 300 times more retinol equivalents than carrots or tomatoes. The mixed carotenoid complex from crude palm kernel oil contains around 33% α-carotene and 65% β-carotene, in addition to other carotenoids (gamma-carotene, lycopene, etc.). α-carotene and β-carotene act synergistically and offer greater health benefits than β-carotene alone. Our formulation contains one of the highest concentrations of beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A, in combination with other carotenes. Health claims (EU Regulation No. 432/2012) : Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes, normal skin and normal vision. It contributes to normal iron metabolism and to the normal function of the immune system.
