Description
Cho-less-terin: For cholesterol control This exclusive formula contains standardised extracts of red yeast rice, guggul, green tea, as well as beta-glucans and plant sterols in a highly bioavailable matrix of organic olive oil. Sixteen studies including a total of 590 people suffering from hypercholesterolaemia showed that plant sterols alone can reduce total cholesterol by 10 % on average, and LDL (low-density lipoprotein) by 15 %. The synergy of active compounds in Cho-less-terin can reduce total cholesterol by up to 50 %. Cho-less-terin helps reduce the production of LDL cholesterol, which is dangerous for the liver, by interfering with its intestinal absorption, but also by inhibiting the oxidation of cholesterol that leads to atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Cho-less-terin is a safe, effective formula without the side effects of statins, and can also be used as an adjuvant treatment to medications prescribed for hypercholesterolaemia. GUGGUL : This is the name of the resin from the myrrh tree ( Commiphora wightii ). Guggulsterones are the main active components of this yellow-looking gum. These actives are effective antagonists of the Farnesoid X nuclear receptor (FXR). They also regulate the expression of genes involved in maintaining bile acid homeostasis. The properties of guggulsterones allow an increase in the catabolism and excretion of cholesterol. Thus, myrrh tree resin extracts significantly reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. SOYA PLANT STEROLS : Cho-less-terin contains a blend of phytosterols including beta-sitosterol, campesterol and stigmasterol. Being chemically very similar to cholesterol, these phytosterols are found at the sites where cholesterol passes from the intestine into the blood, partially blocking its absorption and thereby lowering blood cholesterol. Plant sterols are particularly interesting for reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure, atherosclerosis and strokes. OATS : Beta-glucans from oats form a viscous solution in the stomach, then travel through the intestines binding to bile acids and lowering LDL cholesterol levels, without reducing HDL cholesterol levels. It is a natural cholesterol inhibitor, simple but very effective. GREEN TEA: Green tea polyphenols, more specifically its catechins, are important antioxidants that protect LDL cholesterol from oxidation and limit its absorption in the intestines, ultimately preventing atherosclerosis. RED YEAST RICE: This natural superfood inhibits HMG-CoA reductase (hydroxymethylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase), a key enzyme in the steps of cholesterol synthesis. Inhibiting cholesterol biosynthesis both helps prevent the absorption of cholesterol during food intake and increases the elimination of circulating cholesterol. Various studies have shown it to be a safe and effective way to reduce total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, the LDL/HDL ratio and the severity of atherosclerosis. ORGANIC OLIVE OIL: A matrix for the active ingredients of CHO-LESS-TERIN, olive oil is also a natural source of vitamins A, D, E and K. Rich in antioxidants, it contributes to cholesterol control and cardiovascular health. Its content of monounsaturated fatty acids and phenols may explain further benefits on HDL cholesterol levels and oxidative damage.
