Description
D-Manocist: the ally of urinary comfort A preparation based on D-mannose, ultra-concentrated cranberry extract, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus , D-Manocist acts synergistically and effectively in the p revention and treatment of lower urinary tract infections and recurrent cystitis. √ D-mannose: This is a sugar with a structure close to glucose, present in the urinary tract. Bacteria present in the urinary tract bind to D-mannose rather than binding to the urethra. Everything is then expelled in the urine, protecting the bladder from infection. √ Cranberry: These berries are rich in antioxidants, particularly flavonoids. These molecules have the particular ability to prevent bacteria from binding to the bladder wall, thus helping to avoid infections. √ Lactobacillus rhamnosu s UB5115: These lactobacilli are abundant in the vagina of fertile women, and prevent the colonisation of the mucosa by pathogenic microorganisms. This process is explained by 2 mechanisms: the first linked to the production of antimicrobial compounds such as organic acids, hydrogen peroxide and bacteriocins; the second which results in the co-aggregation of pathogens. L. rhamnosus and L. fermentum supplementation has enabled a reduction in vaginal colonisation by pathogenic bacteria to be observed. Also, a meta-analysis concluded that lactobacilli are safe and effective in preventing urinary infections.
