Description
Epamil forte Epamil-Forte contains EPA and DHA (in triglyceride form). These are the two main omega-3 fatty acids for humans. Epamil-Forte contains 2,5 times more EPA per capsule than Epamil. Oily fish is the main source. √ EPA must be converted into DHA in the body. In children, this process does not happen so easily. √ DHA is essential for the development of children’s eyes and brain – it is also found in breast milk. A commission of the WHO and the United Nations therefore recommends also adding DHA to baby formula. Furthermore, it appears that most pregnant women do not obtain enough polyunsaturated fatty acids (and therefore EPA) from their diet. EPA and DHA contribute to: √ the maintenance of normal blood pressure (provided daily intake of EPA and DHA does not exceed 5 g) √ the maintenance of normal blood triglyceride levels (provided a minimum daily intake of 2 g of EPA and 2 g of DHA) √ normal heart function (provided a minimum daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and 250 mg of DHA)
