Description
Folic Activ √ Folic Activ' is rich in vitamin B9 (active form of folic acid) in a methylated and active form, meaning no conversion step is needed in the body to benefit from its effects. √ Traditional supplements contain vitamin B9 in the form of folic acid. The body must then convert it into its active form using 2 enzymes (DHFR and MTHFR). Unfortunately, some people have a deficiency in these enzymes (or they are totally inactive) and accumulate folic acid which remains inactive. √ With Folic Activ', you benefit from an active vitamin B9, directly usable by your body. √ As well as being well absorbed and stable, our Folic Activ' is highly dosed in methylated vitamin B9 , with 400 µg per capsule. Pregnancy & Peace of Mind An additional intake of folic acid increases the mother's folate status. A low folate status in the mother is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects in the developing foetus. Vitamin B9 in its active form supports : √ the growth of maternal tissue (placenta, breasts, uterus) during pregnancy, √ the reduction of fatigue, √ the normal functioning of the immune system, √ normal blood formation, √ normal psychological functions (relaxation), √ normal homocysteine metabolism. Folic Activ' is particularly recommended at least one month before conception and up to three months after. Ideally, it is even recommended to supplement 6 months before conception (especially if taking oral contraceptives).
