WHAT IS KRILL OIL? Krill Oil is extracted from Antarctic krill, one of the most abundant biomasses on Earth, and whose sourcing is carefully controlled. It is a small crustacean that contains many nutrients, in particular a significant ratio of omega-3s in phospholipid form, which make this oil digestible and bioavailable. Its omega-3 EPA/DHA are thus better absorbed, without burping or nausea, unlike fish oils. Moreover, studies show that it is particularly effective at increasing the omega-3 index, an important health biomarker. Its natural astaxanthin content, a carotenoid-type marine antioxidant, gives it its distinctive red colour and helps protect its essential fatty acids from oxidation.
