This makes cooking and baking easier! √ Lactase drops can be used at any age . For children, allow one drop per 50 ml of formula, or breast milk can be used to immediately digest the lactose. Lactose, also called “milk sugar”, is mainly found in milk and other dairy products such as cream, custard, fromage blanc, mascarpone, cream cheese, biscuits and cake. It is in the intestines that the Lactase enzyme breaks lactose down into glucose and galactose so that it can be absorbed by the intestinal wall. √ If the Lactase enzyme is present in insufficient quantity, as with intolerance to lactose , lactose cannot be broken down and is therefore not sufficiently absorbed in the small intestine.
