Description
A high-quality plant oil Evening primrose seeds are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids including gamma-linolenic acid and linolenic acid. Evening primrose is a precursor of type 1 prostaglandins. Evening primrose contributes to: √Female well-being √Maintenance of normal menstruation √Maintenance of normal blood cholesterol thanks to linolenic acid Vitamin E contributes to: √Protecting cells from oxidative stress Evening primrose oil is extracted from the seeds by first cold pressing, so as not to alter its active compounds. The oil is very rich in essential fatty acids: 8 to 14% gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), 60 to 80% linolenic acid, 6 to 11% oleic acid, 7% palmitic acid and 3% stearic acid. GLA is fundamental to the cell membrane and is a precursor of prostaglandins : PGE 1. These prostaglandins 1 act as natural anti-inflammatories1 and help, among other things, to regulate female hormones (oestrogen, progesterone, prolactin). GLA is therefore used in premenstrual syndrome as well as at the beginning and end of gynaecological life. The oil is recommended in capsule form at a dose of 1 to 4g per day. Borage oil benefits from other blood transporters and the two can be complementary. Do not hesitate to vary your treatments.
