Description
Quercetin 98 is a supplement based on quercetin. Each 500 mg capsule provides an optimal concentration of 98% quercetin. Quercetin is a bioflavonoid known for its therapeutic benefits. Of all the flavonoids, quercetin is one of the most studied and the most abundant in a wide variety of commonly consumed foods such as apples, onions, tea, berries, vegetables and nuts. QUERCETIN: it exhibits significant antihistamine, antiallergic and anti-inflammatory activities. It inhibits not only the release of histamine, but also its formation and that of other inflammatory and allergenic compounds such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It is therefore very useful in cases of asthma and respiratory tract infections because of the bronchial constriction process associated with these processes. Allergic reactions lead to the release of histamine and leukotrienes, compounds that mediate the symptoms of allergy and inflammation. The presence of histamine increases vascular permeability and promotes the accumulation of immune complexes that cause tissue damage, for example in the respiratory tract. High levels of histamine are associated with a weakened immune system and therefore increased vulnerability to allergens. Its cardiovascular benefits stem from its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to inhibit the oxidation of LDL cholesterol. It also enhances the antioxidant effect of vitamin C and, alone or combined with vitamin C, helps reduce the incidence of oxidative damage to the skin's neurovascular structure and inhibit damage to neurons. According to preliminary laboratory studies, quercetin helps reduce the formation of oestrogens which can sometimes promote the growth of cancer cells. Its antitumour action also lies in its antioxidant effect, useful for overcoming resistance to chemotherapy by promoting the apoptosis of cancer cells; but also in its effect of blocking heat shock proteins; and finally in its ability to inhibit the system that allows cancer cells to expel chemotherapy agents.
