Description
Vitamin B12 Vitamin B12 MecobalActive® is in the methylcobalamin form, the most active and bioavailable of all, which is why we chose it for our formula. MecobalActive® has shown higher absorption levels than other cobalamin supplements. An optimised dosage taking into account the body’s absorption processes The dosage of 1000 µg / day was defined to take into account the different absorption mechanisms specific to vitamin B12: √ Active absorption: the main route of assimilation, it corresponds to all the mechanisms of the human body that protect and transport vitamin B12 to its site of action, in this case the cell, or of storage, mainly within the liver. Choosing a form adapted to active absorption is the ideal solution for deficient populations such as vegans or vegetarians. √ Passive absorption: this is diffusion via the intestinal mucosa without vitamin B12 being bound to its transport protein. This diffusion is limited due to the structure of vitamin B12, only a small percentage manages to pass through to the other side, hence the value of ingesting a large quantity. This route is to be favoured in elderly people and populations affected by disorders of active-route absorption. The strength of our MecobalActive® lies in being perfectly suited to these two absorption channels.
