Dr Vincent Renaud is a doctor who has practised integrative and functional medicine for 25 years. He is president and founder of SYNAMIEF, the Syndicat National de Médecine Intégrative et Fonctionnelle, which brings together the growing community of non-conventional, non-pharmaceutical practitioners in France. His practice combines micronutrition, phytotherapy, supplements and allopathic medicine where needed, around one central principle: look at the causes of lifestyle diseases rather than the consequences. SYNAMIEF works towards official recognition of this approach with the medical regulatory bodies, and lobbies for preventive medicine to be funded in line with its socio-economic benefits.
Vincent has spent 25 years practising functional medicine in a setting where the pharmaceutical and food industries dominate public discussion. “We regularly have colleagues summoned by the medical council, which doesn't really understand what we do.” SYNAMIEF was created to meet that need for visibility, defence and support for integrative medicine practitioners.
The meeting with Simplycure came down to shared values. “Everyone is treated the same, there's no favouritism. You don't push one brand ahead of another. It's simply about making prescribing easier to access, for doctors and non-doctors alike.”
The institutional partnership is part of a shared mission: making integrative medicine more accessible, more rigorous and more human. “€1 invested in prevention is €4 saved on illness 10 years later.” Simplycure becomes a player in that shift, making supplements easier for practitioners and their patients to access without commercial bias brand by brand.
