About Grapefruit Seed Extract √ Natural product effective against fungi and bacteria, with disinfectant and fungicidal properties. √ Grapefruit seed extract is an organic compound whose active ingredients are drawn from the grapefruit seed. It contains several terpenes, vitamin C and amino acids. √ This product is non-toxic, and has no side effects. √ Several studies have established that this extract is particularly effective against Gram-positive or Gram-negative bacteria, fungi and yeasts. √ It acts on the gastrointestinal system, at a concentration of around 60 to 100 ppm. The most common concentration is between 125 and 250 ppm. √ It is a natural antibiotic well known for its effectiveness in the treatment of candidiasis and traveller's diarrhoea (tourista). Internal use (diluted): √ Candidiasis and traveller's diarrhoea: take 3 to 4 drops in a little water each morning. √ Control of micro-organisms responsible for gingivitis and dental plaque: mix 3 drops in a small glass of water and rinse the mouth for at least 30 seconds. Adults and children over 6 years old: use once a day after brushing teeth. Rinse the mouth thoroughly with clear water after use. √ Nasal irrigation: dilute 1 drop of Grapefruit Seed Extract in a little water. Tilt the head back and spray into the nostrils with a nasal spray or using a dropper (introduce a little solution into each nostril). Move the head up and down to “force the passage”. Then bring the head back upright and let the liquid drain out. Do not breathe through the nose during the operation. √ Genital douche: dilute 2 to 3 drops in a glass of water. For one week, wash the affected area once a day. √ Gargle (sore throat): gargle several times in a row with a mixture of 3 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract in a glass of water. Use as often as necessary. External use (to be diluted): √ Scalp treatment: to control various scalp conditions. Mix 5 to 10 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract with shampoo and massage into the scalp. Leave on for a few minutes before rinsing. √ Skin problems: apply directly to the areas concerned, notably minor skin irritations, insect bites, athlete's foot or cysts. For cysts or local subcutaneous infections, apply cotton wool or gauze soaked in the product to the affected area and leave on overnight. For acne and cleansing the face, first wash the face, rinse it and leave it damp; then pour 2 or 3 drops of product onto your fingertips and gently massage the skin with circular movements: rinse thoroughly with cold water. Other uses: √ Cleaning toothbrushes: dilute 5 to 10 drops in a glass of water. Soak the toothbrush for at least 10 minutes, or overnight. Rinse your toothbrush before each use. Repeat the process, changing the water at least every three days. √ Washing fruit and vegetables: dilute 30 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract in a container filled with cold water. Leave fruit or vegetables to soak for a short while to ensure thorough cleaning and better keeping. √ Liquid concentrate of Grapefruit Seed Extract can also be used to clean and disinfect dishes, kitchen utensils, cutting boards, etc.
