Description Sourced directly from our harvester in Oregon (USA). KLAMATH, whose Latin name is " Afanizomenon flos Aquae " or AFA, takes its name from the lake in which it grows, Lake Klamath . Covering an area of 325km², at an altitude of 1200m, it is located in a protected zone, bordered to the north by a national park, to the south by a volcanic range which enriches the water with oxygen and a multitude of minerals and trace elements, and to the west by a protected forest. Intense sunlight promotes significant photosynthetic activity, allowing the alga to develop rapidly each year. The first form of life to appear on Earth, 3.8 billion years ago, Klamath offers a very varied range of: √ Vitamins √ Minerals √ Trace elements √ Essential amino acids √ Fatty acids √ Phycocyanins with antioxidant properties √ PEA (Phenylethylamine) , a neurotransmitter that supports mood Preservation of active compounds Drying of the Klamath Safe® microalga is carried out using a spray-drying process at room temperature never exceeding 41°C. This makes it possible to preserve all the active compounds and in particular the phycocyanins, which are destroyed above this temperature.
