Description
WHAT IS ACID-BASE BALANCE? Acid-base balance refers to the balance between the level of acidity (pH < 7) and alkalinity (pH > 7) in the body. To be in good health, the body's pH should be around 7. Certain foods rich in protein, dairy products or meals low in fruit and vegetables can disrupt this balance. WHAT CAUSES AN IMBALANCE IN ACID-BASE BALANCE? An imbalanced acid-base balance can be the cause of various discomforts such as digestive acidity, abnormal hair loss, fatigue, migraines, tiredness or an increased risk of osteoporosis. PH REGUL®, A SYNERGY OF EXPERTLY DOSED ACTIVE INGREDIENTS CONTRIBUTING TO NORMAL ACID-BASE METABOLISM pH régul® is a complementary combination of lithothamnium, parsley and mineral citrates. √ Lithothamnium is a marine algae native to Brittany. √ Parsley is a food with a very low PRAL index (an index measuring the acidifying or alkalising potential of foods). √ Zinc, magnesium, manganese and potassium are 4 alkalising minerals provided in citrate form, thus ensuring optimal bioavailability. √ Zinc contributes to normal acid-base metabolism, acting within the body's major buffer system, thereby contributing to the balance of blood pH. Did you know? The PRAL index, or "Potential Renal Acid Load", is a way of indicating the potential renal acid load of a food, that is, its acidifying or alkalising effect on the body. It is in urine that this load is measured, in milliequivalents (mEq) per 100g of food. A figure above zero indicates an acidifying food, while a figure below zero indicates an alkalising potential.
